Our 5th & 6th grade Poetry Teams took second and first place respectively at the BronxWrites/ Dream Yard Poetry Slam Finals on February 15th, 2023 at The Public’s Joe’s Pub. The category with the highest demand and, therefore, the highest dollar allocation, continues to be the Gardening & Outdoor Learning category. Garden projects from 75 schools were awarded, including projects below that highlight climate action, the importance (and fun!) of nature and ecology, and examples of experiential and collaborative learning.
Ruth Duran-Chea of the P.S. 315 Lab School (Bronx), partnered with CatRock Ventures to secure a permit to access nearby NYC Park āWashingtonās Walk,ā where students learned to bike, tend to tree beds, and plant seeds and flowers.
